Health & Physical Education
Health education and physical education are integral to the education of the whole child. Both subjects provide students with skills and knowledge that will empower them to achieve and sustain a lifetime of health and physical activity. Healthy and physically active children possess an increased potential for academic achievement and are better equipped to cope with the demands of daily life.
The design of health education courses and delivery should allow all students to develop and practice health literacy skills, such as decision-making, analyzing influences, accessing information, interpersonal communication, goal setting, self-management and advocacy.
Physical education should lead students on a journey that enables them to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to participate confidently in a wide variety of physical activities.
