About the Recipe
It’s a Mexican dish and my family makes it as the main dish at most of our family events. This flavorful steak is enjoyed at many fiestas year after year!
Ingredients
- 2 pounds skirt steak, trimmed, cut into 6 inch pieces
- 2 limes, zested and juiced
- 1 navel orange, zested and juiced
- 1 chipotle chili, chopped
- 1 tablespoon adobo sauce
- 2 coarsely chopped scallions
- 3 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon canola oil, plus more for grilling
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro leaves
- 2 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt, plus more to taste
- 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper, plus more to taste
Directions
- Place steak in an oven-safe dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix lime and navel orange juice, chipotle chile, adobo sauce, scallions, garlic, oil, Worcestershire sauce, cilantro, cumin, salt and pepper.
- Put steak pieces in the mixture and let marinate for an hour.
- Once fully marinated, place steak on hot grill and cook for approximately seven minutes on each side.
