Traci Causey
Dr. Traci Causey is the Vice President of Programs & Strategy at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. During her tenure at Healthier Generation, Traci has served as a leader across multiple initiatives and now leads our programs team and strategy work.
Over the past 15 years, Traci has worked in various areas within the food and nutrition and public health fields. Following a transition from working in inpatient and retail pharmacy, she worked as the Marketing & Catering Manager of Campus Food Services at her alma mater, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Traci transitioned to the public health field as a manager of two Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) clinics in Brownsville, Texas. In 2009, she led the opening of a new clinic with Harris County Public Health WIC Program in Houston, Texas. Working with women and children through the WIC program is where her deep passion for public health was birthed. She later served in management and leadership roles working with school districts, state educational agencies, and in the nonprofit sector working on health and nutrition-related programming. Her professional work, volunteerism, and dedication to continuous learning is guided by her strong passion and keen focus for addressing social determinants of health and achieving health equity.
Traci earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master of Science in Food Systems Administration, Master of Business of Administration, and PhD in Health Studies from Texas Woman’s University. She is credentialed as a School Nutrition Specialist and is a Certified Health Education Specialist and an ACE-Certified Health Coach.
