Leronda Sharpes
Leronda Sharpes is the Acting Vice President of Programs at The Alliance for a Healthier Generation. She supervises program managers across the country to implement the RISE initiative with districts and schools in need of staff wellbeing and resilience resources and coaching.
After spending over a decade developing and implementing school health programs, Leronda understands the importance of school health strategies as one way to enhance health equity among all students.
Before coming to the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Leronda provided support at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Thrive initiative which worked to provide mental health support for all New Yorkers. She created program plans for school mental health initiatives to ensure New York’s most vulnerable population received the mental health supports they needed.
Leronda holds a Master’s in Public Health from The City University of New York’s Brooklyn College and a Bachelor’s in Science from Temple University.
