Karla D’Alleva Valas

As the head of Fidelity Private Wealth Management® and Executive Services, Karla leads an organization of professionals who work with high-net-worth clients and workplace executives to meet their investment and planning needs. Karla’s team specializes in working with individual investors, workplace executives, entrepreneurs and business owners, and their families to coordinate the development and implementation of highly customized and comprehensive financial planning.

Prior to assuming her current position, Karla served as a senior vice president and head of fundraising and distribution at Fidelity Charitable®. In this role, she was responsible for leading the strategic direction, alignment, and execution of fundraising efforts. 

Karla also spent more than 12 years as the managing director of the Advanced Planning Group at Fidelity Charitable® where she led a team of attorneys in the Complex Asset practice and worked directly with founders, entrepreneurs, C-suite executives, and private equity professionals to unleash the power of their private business interests and equity compensation for philanthropic purposes. Prior to joining Fidelity Investments in 2001, Karla was an appellate court attorney for the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division Third Judicial Department.

Karla received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Holyoke College, her Juris Doctorate from the New England Law in Boston, and a Master of Laws degree in taxation from Boston University School of Law.  She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of New York.

As a good friend to national nonprofit leaders, Karla has advised many professionals seeking to maximize their fundraising effectiveness and evolution. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Raleigh NC, past president of the Junior League of Worcester (MA), and has volunteered in other capacities in the Albany (NY) and Boston (MA) Leagues.

Karla is a regular contributor for Forbes Magazine and has been quoted in many other publications about her expertise in philanthropy as a critical component of holistic wealth management.
