#GirlsAre Powerful: By Jillian Michaels

Girls — you are powerful. Remember that. Feel that. Embrace that.

Power is something that lives inside you. It must be nurtured and cultivated, but it’s there. Waiting for you to recognize it.

In this world, haters might try to tear you down out of their own self-loathing. Regardless, it doesn’t matter what others say: you are powerful. And that power can never be taken from you by another.

Being powerful isn’t about perfection, it’s about progress. Perfect is impossible.

You’re going to fail — plan on it. Failure is an integral part of life and a crucial entry point for learning. The key is learning to see failure as a sign of courage as opposed to validation of incompetence. This mindset is how you cultivate power as opposed to diminishing it.Join the #GirlsAre Campaign.

For me, power comes from living an active lifestyle, which allows me to be mentally healthy and physically strong. Physical prowess weaves its way into every facet of your life. I know this because I experience the benefits of being physically active every day. I also see the benefits in the people I work with.

No, it’s not easy. But nothing worthwhile is ever easy.

And your generation isn’t one to shy away from a challenge. In fact, girls today are redefining femininity, strength, success and what it means to be powerful.

Girls — be your strongest selves, be your most powerful selves, and grow up to become women who rise to the occasion.

Don’t let the fear of failure stop you, let it motivate you. Don’t let peer pressure stop you, let it motivate you. Don’t let expectations stop you, let them motivate you.

When you tap into — and build on — the power in your bodies and in your minds, you’ll be unstoppable.

Join the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and the Clinton Foundation to change the story for girls and physical activity and show that #GirlsAre Powerful.
