A Message from Healthier Generation on Race and Public Health

As a public health organization that works with and for community, we have been following the evolving conversations regarding race, health and well-being. As we take a moment to reflect on a transformational period in our country’s history – we want our position to be clear and unmistakable. We stand firmly with Black and Brown communities in the fight against racism and for justice. At Healthier Generation, we believe racism is an issue that is inextricably woven into the fabric of life in the United States, including public health. Amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic, our inequities are undeniable.  

We cannot stay silent.

We are committed to deepening our role as an active listener and using our influence as a national leader and community partner to upend the systems of injustice that have so deeply failed our communities of color. Together, we must move to an equitable world where children and their families have the power and agency to live their healthiest and fullest lives.
