In the fight against childhood obesity, all companies who manufacture, distribute or sell food, beverages, sporting goods, and video games can be part of the solution. Working together with companies and trade associations in these industries to increase children's access to lower calorie, more nutritious foods and beverage and augment physical activity in children is essential to the mission of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. The Alliance is unique in its approach, working as an effective and neutral broker with leading companies and trade associations to facilitate agreements that accelerate availability of lower calorie, nutritious foods and beverages and increase access to physical activity. Our Healthy Schools Program and Kids Movement complement this work as they strive to create healthier environments and accelerate demand. Groundbreaking agreements have already been reached with the beverage and food industries, with more to come.
