That is why the Alliance for a Healthier Generation approaches the issue from multiple directions, including brokering voluntary agreements with leaders in the food, beverage, fitness, and healthcare industries to create better access to healthier foods and beverages, physical activity and healthcare benefits for children across the country.

From Fries and Soda to Yoga and Yogurt

drink waterDuring its first year of participation in the Healthy Schools program, West Babylon High School (WBHS) has experienced quite a stir in its kitchens, classrooms and hallways. Posters touting the benefits of exercise and good food choices decorate the halls and everyone from staff in the kitchen, to teachers, and students are working together to adopt healthier behaviors such as starting the day with a healthy breakfast. With the help of community supporters and many concerned members of the WBHS staff and student body, students and staff are eating smarter and healthier—and loving it!  Read More
