How do I encourage adoption of the Guidelines among the school community?

Once you have established your policy on beverages, the policy and the rationale for introducing it should be distributed to students, families, staff and the media.  It is also a good idea to involve parents, students and the local community when deciding whether to amend, renew or enter into a beverage contract. You may want to publicize and solicit public comment prior to accepting the terms of the contract. Additionally, as you implement changes to the beverage product mix in your school and/or district, consistent and constant communication with the school community is very important.
